Cindirene's was founded by Chuck Dunn and is located in Ayden,
NC.
The name Cindirene's has a unique story
behind it and is credited to Chuck's wife, Cindy. Cindy was called
Cindirene as a child because her Great Aunt wanted to call
her Irene (her grandmother's name), but since her mother
called her Cindy, the Great Aunt called her Cindirene
instead. Cindy outgrew her childhood nickname, but it surfaced once
again when Chuck was brainstorming for a unique name for his unique
business. (Pictured: Chuck & Cindy Dunn)
Chuck taught in the public school system
for 37 years and retired five times, before finally breaking
away to open Cinderene's in July of 2004. Over the years
and during time off, Chuck
& Cindy traveled throughout North Carolina and
Virginia covering both states from the coast to the
mountains. Along the way, their favorite stops were the small but
growing wineries throughout both states. Eventually, they had
collected enough bottles of wine to joke about opening their
own wine shop, promoting wines and other regional
products.
Fortunately for the town of
Ayden, its citizens and all wine enthusiasts Cindy and
Chuck turned their "joke" into reality. Cindirene's is a
place to discover and rediscover!
Through commitment, experience, and
expertise Cindirene's has established a business relationship
with customers that will last a lifetime!
